About

When I first started designing websites professionally the Dot-Com Bubble had yet to burst. I was in college at the time, working at a coffeehouse to pay for a Degree in English Literature. One of the regulars overheard me talking about publishing my work on the Internet, and paid me to design a site for his business. Before long I had the portfolio of a bonefide Web Designer, which I used to land me a job at a Big Corporation just up the road from the coffeehouse.

Since then, my journey has taken me from the moment an Idea is born on the web, through every level of the Development Cycle, to the final point of delivery. My role is to conceptualize these ideas and capture them in prototypes. Instead of simply designing the point of entry, I look at how a user connects to the information, and create something they actually enjoy using. In today’s world of rapidly evolving technology terms, we call that: User Experience (UX) Design.

What excites me most is how the web is evolving beyond a collection of web pages, into a global conversation across a variety of platforms. Conversations require more than one person delivering knowledge: it requires a continual loop so that the knowledge can continue to grow. This conversation is currently taking place across the Social Web. I seek to continue designing User Experiences on the Social Web so that everyone has the opportunity to contribute.
